Was watching some of the videos and also downloaded the manual, but couldn't anything about this, so I hope someone who already rode the i2 can help.
I think the manual only mentions the turtle (black key) and a pro (red key?) mode. Is that it? No yellow? How about custom programming like red speed with yellow turn etc.? And if it really only is black and red, I wonder how tour companies will handle it. For example i on the Paris tour, the first part is with the black key and when the participants have some experience with the Segway, the guide allows the usage of the yellow key, red is not used. So it seems with the infokey it would be black only?
Before the official release of Gen 2 someone mentioned that the tire valve now is on the inside of the tire, I would imagine that makes accessing the valve a bit complicated.

Marc,
You're right, no yellow key. And the machine needs to be on it's side for any tire valve access.
As far as custom programming, I think that's a no no only because now the leansteer takes into account body lean per turn, and having the top speed and turn out of whack may make that tough to do.

I'd say the yellow key was a useless increment. The black was for demos and for some restraint while the new user got used to the machine. But on the negative side, I found the mushy steering to be TOO mushy and a bit of a liability in its sluggish response.
Now with leansteer, we don't have the problem of too sensitive a steering ring for new riders with the red key, so Seg probably figured, all in all, the yellow level wasn't necessary.
Just learn it well, use the turtle mode if necessary, but otherwise just go for it. Take it slow, kinda like taking the ol' training wheels off the bike before you're totally ready. Just be observant and learn from any mistakes or hiccups.
As far as the tire valve goes, I'd say it was worth it to hide the thing on the inside for the enhanced looks. It's no big deal to tip the machine over on its side to get at the valve once every week or so. I'm just guessing, but maybe it'd be easier to fill the TOP tire while it's on its side. That way you can just spin the top wheel to find it, and it might be easier to reach and press the hose nozzle down on it.

Personally, I also never use the black or yellow key, but I thought it was quite useful for the purpose of a tour. Black gets boring pretty fast if you are an experienced driver so it was good to use yellow with which the newbies still felt safe, red probably would have been too much for them, especially in a city like Paris.

MarcI haven't ridden an i2, but I found your question about custom programming is addressed in the new FAQ at the Segway site:
http://www.segway.com/support/faq/frequently-asked-questions.html
Q: We control the speed at which our employees can ride our Segway PTs. Can we do the same thing with the Segway PT?
A: Yes, each InfoKey controller can be locked into the beginner setting by a special sequence of button-presses. Further customization is possible by programming the InfoKey controller at the Segway factory. Programming each InfoKey controller separately is an additional service offer to customers that can be quoted individually per account.
It looks like custom key programming will be available for fleet operators, and it looks like it needs to be done at the factory. There doesn't seem to be a solution for individual users. And as mentioned by others on this thread, it may not be necessary.
Regarding the valve stems, it has been pointed out that the new tires are tubed, rather than tubeless, so leakage ought to be reduced. In turn, checking and topping off shouldn't be needed so often.

Ride one and you will see why this is not necessary. You simply hold the CS in front of yourself, and lean where you want to go. The steering sensitivity does not change between turtle and pro, just top speed.

The two i2 that we have has two info keys 1 key is black and red speed the other is yellow and red speed. we just move the riders from black to red with no problems.
