Where can I look up the prices for the new models?

In the "Build" mode, it only shows the prices for the options, but not for the PT itself.

Total price is at the top left, including the options you selected.

Thanks! Found it now. At first I always selected Switzerland and then it doesn't show the price for the Segway, only for the options.

When I choose US, the prices where there. Finally also Segway Switzerland has a pricelist online.

Wow, what a difference!!! The basic model, which costs you $4995 is about $7452 here in Switzerland! OUCH!!!

Well, it includes training and free shipping in Switzerland, but then, Switzerland is not that big...

The reason for the big difference is customs and duties. Whenever Segway ships the machines from the US to an international location there will always be a retail price increase.

Is it correct, that at the moment the new basic i2 model has the same price as the i180? In Switzerland, the i2 is almost $300 more expensive than the i180.

I was also surprised to discover, that in Germany the i180 (no i2 price list yet) is even more expensive. Strange!

I wonder if a direct import from the US would be worth the hassle.

Marc,

Be careful comparing various countries prices. Shipping, customs, VAT, and associated tariffs will change a retail price dramatically.

I would also not compare the "list" US price with the price outside the US. $4,995 doesn't always have the shipping and sales tax included. In fact, by our calculations, a unit bought in the US, after you add shipping and taxes, is closer to $5,500.

Steven

$5500, is that what the price is in the UAE? Still sound a lot better than my $7466.

Well, our shipping is a tad bit more and our taxes add another 5% but we are lower than you quoted.

Well in Thailand the Import duties for Segway are 60%. That make the i180 Li-Ion cost $9,360!! but the good thing is we get replacement if any problem happen to the machine in first year and the dealer offer free on site service if needed one!! But still 60% duties is too much.. So I think $7452 for Switzerland isn't that bad.

StevenTell me about it.

To import from the US into UK:

$4995 for a unit
$137.36 CC Charge for using foreign currency
$586.82 Postage
$334.91 Duty
$1035.43 VAT
$36.00 Handling charge by delivery company to process VAT and Duty

Plus, no real warranty to speak of, unless you send it back over the pond. Better buy from a local dealer!
