:) The time has come… The moment is here…
Welcome, to GEN2!
Forget what you know about Segway HT’s and open your mind to the new PT; a truly AMAZING machine. To all who doubted the proposed “LeanSteer” technology prepare to eat your words. Silky smooth is probably the best way to describe the feeling of the new i2. Just when you thought Segway transporters couldn’t get anymore intuitive, BAM!, here comes this work of art.
Before everyone flocks to your dealer to try out this beauty (which by the way reminds me of something off of Minority Report), here are some things to keep in mind when jumping in head first:
1. Again, forget what you know about Segway transporters. This is crucial. You must have a completely clear mind; as if you were stepping on a Segway for the first time (ahh, remember those days of yore?). It does not act like anything you have tried… It’s better (if you can comprehend that).
2. LeanSteer welcome aboard. The biggest addition to the new Segway transporters is, of course, LeanSteer. If you’re technically inclined, this will blow your mind. One BIG thing to remember is ALWAYS KEEP THE HANDELBAR WITH YOU! No matter what angle you’re at (sideways slope, rough terrain, driveway, etc) keep the LeanSteer grip with you. The Segway PT does the calculating to keep you strait even at a radical angle sideways. No more having to compensate with your body leaning way over against the slope while the very thing that gives you control - the control shaft TwistGrip - is on the other side of the world.
3. InfoKey is here, and you’re gonna love it. This little Turtle/Tick look-alike is a gliders best friend. Allowing you to control the status of your Segway PT (on/off, alarm, beginner mode, etc.) wirelessly and giving you real-time info on speed, distance, time, etc, and allows you to activate the WICKED-cool alarm system.
4. Prepare to be amazed. With the included features such as the AWSOME Alarm System (which btw sirens, stick-shakes, AND locks the wheels), wireless activation, wicked cool start-up and shutdown sounds (again, like something off of Minority Report), Intuitive design (no more bending over to read Battery info), and InfoKey, you won’t know what to do with yourself!
All this said, the i-series is still an amazing piece of machinery and really cannot be compared to the i2. The differences and feeling of each of them are just too different to begin comparison. I will still probably hold onto my i-series for a while just because it is what it is – a tool that I have come to know and love. That doesn’t take way from the fact I want an i2 so bad I could cry, lol. Enjoy the glide and get ready!
