:D :D :p
Greetings, folks!
Some of you may remember me from 18 months - 2 years ago under the handle "White Mountain Joy". After about a year of absence from these forums, forgotten passwords and changes to email accounts, I rejoined Segway Chat with a new ID.
We were operating White Mountain Joyrides, and unfortunately it's now a memory (many awesome memories, actually), but out of the experience I have lots of photos! I decided to start a site, as much as anything to tell my story. Now it is evolving into a more ambitious project, and I'd really like to collect and publish Segway tour reviews. :)
If you are a Segway enthusiast & you want to submit a tour review, there is a form on the site to do so. Even better, if you have photos to share, feel free to note that when you submit the text, and I'll give you an email address to which to send them.
If you're a tour operator, please do send me details of your operation(s) and I'll list your info. At this point I am looking for as much content as I can add, so this can be a win/win situation for all of us.
Here is the site link: http://www.segway-rental-tour-guide.com/
I welcome your comments and feedback. Thanks for playing! ;)

Hi Joy,
Nice website, too bad it didn't workout with your tour-company.
Feel free to use my story about San Francisco:
http://www.theredkey.net/article.php?story=20050718130628303
If you want to make the scope broader then the USA, then please let me know, I can write a review about the tourcompany in Stockholm too.
I'm also wondering if there shouldn't be some kind of scorecard for tour companies, then it's easier for someone to take a tour to quickly see how a tour company has done in the past. You could think of a scoring system with the following topics:
Training: 0 - 2 stars
The ride it self: 0 - 2 stars
Did they do something extra: 0 - 1 star
In total a tour company could get 5 stars when everything is perfect, or 0 stars when it's absolutly crap.
Ofcourse you should define some criteria's for the first 2 topics, but it could work out.
Perhaps you could even make some stickers which you could send to a tourcompany to put up their window after they have been evaluated by some inspection glider.
Just some ideas to perhaps start an discussion.

Hi Florin,
Thanks very much for your reply and comments. I will certainly use your review of the San Francisco Tour, and would absolutely love to include Stockholm. My goal is to include tour options world-wide.
I have ordered business cards that will solicit reviews, and I expect to start offering them to tour companies in the next couple of weeks. Here is a shot of what they will look like:

I think a window sticker or some other form of acknowledgement to send to tour companies after a review is posted would be a great idea. I'll have to give more thought to the rating idea. After years in the Human Resources field, I am wary of rating systems that are to open to (mis-) interpretation (one man's "perfect" could be a nervous mother's "crap" ;) ). I do appreciate the suggestion!

Florin,
I replied to you before checking out your review.... WOW! That is awesome, and is essentially about the best I could possibly ask for.
Next time (if ever) someone asks what a great Segway tour review looks like, I'll show them yours! ;)
Thanks so much!

Hi Joy,
When I have time, I will write a review about Upp&Ner in Stockholm, my story on the redkey about stockholm is about a ride with the dealer. After that ride I have had a lot of positive experiences with Upp&Ner.
Give me a few days and I will send the story to you (and ofcourse to the red key).

Hi Florin and everybody else!
Thanks again for sharing your review, Florin - here is the link to it on my site:

Your photos were excellent, but just a little too big for my template, so I hope you will excuse my resizing a bit.
I'm thrilled to anticipate the Stockholm review. I actually visited there for 3 days in 1971 - a mere teen. But I loved the city, and I had no idea there is a tour there now.
This is so much fun! Thanks again, Florin!
OK, now, Who wants to be next? ;) :p :D :)
