MILWAUKEE - A new business in Milwaukee's Third Ward is offering rides and tours on Segways. They're billed as the world's first self-balancing human transporter. Jackie Allen learned the basics of Segway riding or "gliding" as it is called, including all the important rules of the road. "Rule number four is when you come to an obstacle you want to stop at the obstacle, square yourself up and then you want to push through the obstacle, okay?" Segway instructor Chuck Doughty said. A few minutes into the machine in motion lesson Jackie was ready to roll. "It was fun. I was nervous to try it, but it was pretty easy once you got on it." Jackie explained.

Easy for some but not everyone.
Jackie's mom had trouble staying on the Segway during her first lesson. Even Jackie's dad found it fun but challenging. He said, "It was a lot of fun, (but it) takes a little time to get the motions down to allow you to go backward and forward and turn right and left." But by the end of her lesson Jackie's mom was moving around like a pro.

Segway of Milwaukee offers two tours a day or "flights" as they call it. The three hour flight cost $70.
