I have had the funniest few weeks of my life since I got my hands on this amazing machine. What are your funniest experiences...?
Best experience so far, I think, was going to a TV commercial screen test yesterday. I decided to make an impact by arriving on my Seg. I was able to get in the lift and actually go straight into the room where they were doing the screen tests. I had the director, producer, casting agent, etc all on the Segway for half an hour before I finally got to do my screen test. Funniest thing was they got me doing it on the Seg! Ads are for a local Tourism Agency and they may want to use the Seg for the series. Hopefully they liked me too!!! Will keep you posted. Brilliant experience...
Yesterday I also got stopped on the street and invited on Cycling Awareness Tour of Belfast on my Seg - first time I got to spend so much time on the road with the Segway. One of the guys in the group had a huge Amp attached to the back of his bicycle. He had a huge beard and hair and was covered in oil too. He played all this weird 70's music and could be heard from miles away. Very trippy experience following that on the Segway. Got loads of attention - fantastic.
Rode down centre of Grafton street in Dublin and got amazing response. Got booted by the Garda (Irish Police) from St Stephen's Green. Once out they had a go themselves! Loved it.
Have had at least 3 drunks come up to me out of their minds laughing at me on this thing. I think they thought they were mid drunken dream or something!
Girl in the street asked me to hold her ice-cream while she had a go and to have a bite if I wanted - that doesn't happen every day!
Italian girl in a park ran up to me shouting "It's so funny - It's so funny - let me try - it's lovely" - Hilarious
When asked by some kids in the street "How's it work mister?" I told them I looked up to move it forward and down to move it back - you wanted to see the looks on their faces - try it some time - great fun!
