Does anyone think if Segway were to incorperate a mini laptop into the design of the handle bar (something that could house cell phone capablitys, navagation, wireless internet, general word processors, mp3 player, web cam, voice recorder, pic and video viewer, usb option) even a garage door opener, electric door lock trip, and panic button......... that it would boost sales?
I just thought it would be cool if a segway could be the ultimate personal utility human transporter.
You could cruise into an internet cafe, surf the web, talk on the phone, take pictures of real estate, share music, pics and video with others..... and get to where you need to go, all while being able to eep both hands on the handle bars.
I'm assuming this would all make the Segway unsafe....but, maybe they could do like the Lexus, and make certain options un-usuable while the wheels are in motion over miles an hour or something.

Oh, great. Instead of costing $600 to replace a CSB + Handlebar, it will cost $2000...
Definitely want that $200 handlebar guard on there to protect the investment!
Seriously though, I think the cost of such an add-on would make the purchase price even less attractive to many, if not most, potential buyers.
Although I can think of a couple of folks that would really be interested in that option!

I could see a power plug for a cd player or lights or such, but operating a computer and driving at the same time doesn't seem lke a wise idea. The only distraction I have is my GPS and even that is only to glance at my speed or distance covered. :-)

Yes MacGeek has been there Done that ...With his i-Pod and speakers built in to the handlebar guard,His review video & Monitor screen, his alarm system that tells you your too close step back...and other goodies I forgot Now you go and give him ideas for more..I think thats the reason for the weight loss thing..Less human weight and more room for modes .Now if I could only lose some of that weight myself...Sorry Jon if I leaked some of your modes

Using two RAM mounts attached to the handlenar guard I've installed a PDA (ASUS A636) and a mobile phone cradle. I use the phone with a bluetooth earphone. The PDA has all the rest (pictures, music, video, surfing, Skype, the works).
These two cover all your requirements. On top of that using a SlingBox I can also watch TV on the Segway.
