The Association of book publishers of Israel holds an annual book sale event. It is held annually in the beginning of June in the form of open air book markets in 80 or so towns and cities simultaneously for the duration of two weeks.

Today I went to the Tel Aviv market on the Seg and was not allowed in. No amount of persuasion and demos helped. The security guys there actually new very well what a Segway was and they told me that it was the venue policy not to let Segways and bicycles in.

There was even a solution for the handicapped in the form of electrical carts courtesy of the venue but nothing else motorized or otherwise mobile was allowed in.

I am posting this in order to lay claim to the title of the first ever officially documented Segway boot in the Holly Land. :D

Yossi,

If you've only been booted one time than you aren't trying hard enough.

Whilst I have been pretty successful in getting necessary permissions, I have also been pretty successful in getting booted, even from places with "Segway Rights".

Best eviction happened to one of my employees...Was allowed in by one guard, went to his meeting, and was then seen by another guard who proceeded to boot him...and via the Service Elevator only, even though the client told the guard he wanted him there! The two guards then started to argue, during which my guy snuck back in and finished his demo!

Whoa. Yossi.

For a second there, I thought you parked Ginger in a red zone.

Steven,

I am trying very hard! So far everywhere I went - I was admitted. This included several bank branches of several banks, several clinics, quite a few office buildings and several open venues.

This was the first boot ever!
