Alexandria Virginia April 29th - Earth Day Expo

Just wanted to keep this up on this, even though this is not on the REAL earth day, it will still be a fun event for everyone who attends. It was last year - and it rained.

Alexandria VA is again celebrating Earth Day this year, this time they
are doing it on April 29th.

This year's event is being held at Four Mile Run park where it's
been held in years past. It will run from 9am-12pm. In the event of
rain,the event will be held at Cora Kelly School.

Let me know who else wants to come out and help promote a positive
image for the Segway! Last year we demoed to the Mayor, a number of local elected officials as well as the Police force. And Guess what, this year that town is using Segways in it's Police Patrols - coincidence - I think NOT!

If it rains, like last year we will be inside at the Cora Kelly School / Recreation Center (that is where they suggest that you park if you are driving – rain or shine)

Between Route 1 and Mt. Vernon Ave, and just South of the bridge over the 4 mile run tributary.

This year’s theme is sustainability, and with the price of gas, no question we will have a lot of folks looking to find out more about sustainable transportation like the Segway HT.

We have a DC SEG area that has already been reserved – do not know where it is yet – and if it is like last year – who ever came first got to pick there spot.

There will be a lot of kids, so we plan the basic program for demoing to kids. Kids get to stand on it move forward and backward and turn - but not ride alone. Adults will get the full demo.

So come out to Four Mile Run Park, but if it rains the event will
be held at the Cora Kelly Rec Center, 3600 Commonwealth Ave, Alex VA.
Set up is from 8 am to 9 am and the celebration runs until noon.

We had a Congressman, mayorial canidates, Police Officers, and everyone else up and gliding. Young and Old....

Segways were the hit of the event. - The food was good too!

Thanks to everyone who came out and demoed the Segway. I think there is still one canidate for the Mayor of Alexandria, out there somewhere on a Segway campagining his heart out!
