Anybody tried it ?

Does it compensate the waves?

Does it hold the balance on a heavily rocking boat?

I'll bet its easier standing on the Segway on a rocking ship than on foot.

I'd like to see what an e-series does when in e-stand mode.

I can actually speak on this with experience, I have a E-Series, and I have taken it on the train, and when your coming home at 3 in the morning on a empty train, you tend to PLAY..... (and break the MTA law) (heheh)

The E-series will stand and dance on a train in e-stand mode, but if the train gets too sway back and forth the seg will shut down.. - now RIDING on a moving train IS a experience when a train is in motion its a normal ride, but when it starts and stops, the seg (and rider) have a hard time with the forward / backward motion, much easier on your feet then on wheels.

As Macgeek said, I also "bent" the rules one early morning in NYC (when I was visiting my parents).

In a Subway car...out of curiosty, I put the segway into balance mode, stood in front of it and pushed it away from me (in the opposite direction of the moving train), and behaved as it should, although when the car was initially picking up speed , the glider "appeared" to come back to me slower than it did when the train was slowing down.

When seated (along the subway car wall), it behaves like it should on stable ground.

I did NOT however stand on the Segway in the subway car. :-) Maybe next time.

A i series, will power lean and ride well on a train, but it will move about 4 inches forward and back, and keep adjusting itself.

A e-series WILL NOT power lean, it has its own agenda, and will start dry humping the surface its leaning against (Some DC folks have a great story of when the Macgeek parked his seg against a i series that was laying on the grass at dean's house)

but thats ANOTHER story

Who's *YOUR* Glider?

I cannot say that I have an experience to directly relate, but I do have something that seems to fit into this topic...

I frequently use my E series in parades and the like and fly a rather large American Flag from it... I suspect the flag is at least 4 foot by 6.

When parked in e-stand, and flying the flag on a 12 pole, and dealing with a stiff wind that is constantly changing, the seg does indeed do a dance of sorts...

It is clear when the seg leans forward into a stiff breeze and then how it compensates when the wind gust dies off, only to happen again when the next gust comes up... it is really quite interesting to watch...
