I was watching my local CBS affiliate, muted at a resteraunt-- and I saw a story that contained someone riding what looked like an I-180-- somebody having a lot of fun-- then a friend got on-- riding behind them-- holding on to the first's waist.
It seemed to be positive-- except for the double-occupancy.

I havent been able to find any video-- did anyone else see this? can you get a video?
Thanks
DES

Haven't seen any video of doubling on a Segway, but I have done it on a few occasions. Can be fun, but I have only ever done it on the hard sand of the beach. Keep it safe!

Although I can't imagine myself doing it, we do have several list members who have done it in the past. I'm particularly thinking of Freddy, I believe, who has come to a couple of SegFests and would ride double with his wife (and with one child seated on a wheel) - Braver than I, I'll admit :).

I have done it a many occations, and frequently do it with my children. I would not endorse it for others to do, however, as I take a tremendous effort to assure no mishaps, and cannot request this level of attention of other people.

I also have done it with other consenting adults. It is no big deal, if you pay attention. Again, it does increase the risk of a problem.

I am also not alone in saying that not only have I had two or more on one seg, but I have successfully glidden on more than one seg at the same time, and I learned this from others who have done the same...

All of these games increase the exposure of bad results, so should be entered into with caution...

By the way, I have also driven my convertable with people sitting on the top of the back of the back seat, as in parades and such. It is also not recommended by the car manufacturer...

As with others, I have glidden / glode / glided (which one is it) with 1 and 2 people on with me. It does make it a tad bit more challenging to stop and go but once you are going it is all the same.

I don't recommend it to all but once you've done it you realize how easy it is to master pretty much anything on the Segway.

Ok, I'll admit I did it once.

Kind of like a two man bonsled, the rear rider is the "brake man"
As said, I would not recomend it.

Don't forget the parkslope video! (http://forums.segwaychat.com/showthread.php?t=7313)

Not sure if it's a good example or a bad example.

Depends on your point of view, I suppose...

Back in the beginning we weren't allowed to try things like this or say we did. But now that the statute of limitations is up everything is fair game. Yep, I'm guilty.

One of my greatest joys is going for a slow glide with my loving wife. We love bird watching and if there is music some segdancin.
I have also worked with video photographers, there is an early article in the Red Key.
Riding double is not for beginners and must be done with care.
Always brief your passenger that if they hear a beeping or a red display step off quickly.
It best to mount the machine when it aganst the wall or a soild object.
The passenger should mount from the right side, keep your left hand on the turn control and your foot behind the wheel.
If you have older batteries use extra catuion.

First time it unexpected and was a bit of a shock because, although quite attractive, she was overserved and I had a hard time stopping but nothing bad happened. The second time was with a very attractive segger with theknown to this forum, initials EC, but she knew what to do. The next few times were with a pretty lady friend who is a skier.
Anyone see a pattern here??
