Does anybody have problems with a loose connection when plugging in the i180?

How do you avoid this?

Thanks
Mark

CMonkey on these forums, I believe, has cut some of the "excess" or "neck" of the charging plug so it fits farther into and more snugly into the port itself.

But if you are meaning "loose" as in a little giggle, I think we all have that but you might have it more than others.

Can you specify the problem you are having? Maybe it's just a matter of getting it to seat properly.

i seem to have some horizontal play. i may not be able to get far enough in to seat the plug correctly. thanks for the sanity check. it really is the only beef i have with the product.

Yeah, the seating of the plug has been something to watch for since early on. I think the computer power plug (which is all the plug is) from radio shack has a longer "neck" which allows the plug to seat correctly. I tend to jiggle the plug after it's in and watch to see if the lights come on before I leave.

I agree with what has been said. If you look closely, you will see that the white rubber seal on the charge port turns to black just inside the hole. The black plastic recepticle is the generic size and depth. When you add the extra of the white rubber, you need a longer shaped end for your power cord, or recessed 'shoulders' if the shaped end of your cord returns to rectangular as most do...

I have trimmed the rubber on a few of mine to remove these shoulders...

I was going to put up a link to my post but the pictures are not there (yet?)

Send me an email, and I'll send you the picture of how I eliminated the plug problem by modifying my powercord end.

Spread the male end a bit and hope for the best. This has always been a problem with my first and now my second segway. How do you like the way the plug cover hides the charging lite when it is open? Why won't segway put the light on top so you don't have to stoop down to see if it is working.
