Can someone tell me what the difference between an i167 and i180 is? Aside from being able to use the new batteries? Thanks!

Obviously the color, the 180s are all midnight blue in color except for the trim and the fenders (which are available in dark blye, yellor and red), The shape of the fender is also different, but you have noticed that already. This is pure conjecture, but apparently the paint job is also different (that's why many of the 180 users are having height collar problems).

Apart from that, I notice that the 180 has a stiffer ride/response time than 167/170, this is probably due to the additional battery weight (Lithiums).

The wheels on the 180 are also different from the 167/170, in that there are silver wheel inserts which can be removed (for style) and MUST be removed to pump air into the tires. The valves are also located in a less than user friendly location pointing towards the center of the wheel, instead of OUT.

New or used ~~~ On a quick Look.
1. Grab a penny - Slide it half way over a grove in the tire
a. Look for hair under the grove.
....scratches?....where?

Sal - I may be wrong, but I think we were told at SegFest Sacramento that the Lithiums weigh almost the same as the NiMH - within a few ounces.

Segway - What's holding you up?

My 167 looks great and have had no problems.

My 180 looks black...err Midnight Blue and has issues.
It would have beed nice for Inc to make some changes on the 180 other the power. I can think of a few off the top of my head.

Bottom line is they are the same except for minor style and big range.

I don't think it's been mentioned here that the i167 can "wear" the newer Lithiums -- with a softwear upgrade.

Most if not all i167s came with 10.0 or 12.0 software. The software needed to use the Li-ions is at least 14.0.

All the I-167's that came to fesT last year, had the opportunity to upgrade.... And many are now carring the LiOns with them....

Aren't there complications with using the cargo structure on the newer models? Something about the bag getting scuffed by the wheel? Is it still recommended for I-180 owners to change to I-170 fenders?

I think the Saphions are 3 lbs (per pair) heavier than the NiMH. 22 lbs. vs. 19 lbs. A fairly small difference, since the total weight is over 80 lbs., but noticeable by some.

TerryP is using the 25.0 Bag with his 180, and I have used it as well. The scuffing is remedied by placing some soft styrofoam, or cloth between the rigid vertical strut and the fender, that's it. It's relatively minor.
