Hi all,
Names Jen and I just got back from Disney World.
Now at Disney World I decided to do the Simply Segway tour.
This was way fun so I decided to do the round the World at EPCOT on a Segway tour.
This was also mucho fun so I did it again....
Well you get the idea. I came, I played, I was addicted.
These things are so cool! :)
Anyway, now I'm back in good old Blighty (or th UK to most people) and am in the market for a Segway. I know about the current legal issues surrounding them, but living in the wilds of Chepstow where the police station is only open 9 - 5 Monday thru Friday (Not a joke, they switch all work to another station several miles away outside working hours) I don't think they'll make an issue of me gliding to work along the cycle path. :)
Anyway, off to the buy/sell forum to drop an add. See ya around!

Welcome Jen!
You are in good company here. Many supportive folks.
We are all "addicted" in our own way to these amazing, eco-friendly machines.
For me, it's a "gliding meditation". Thinking of compiling a book of “magical” seg stories from users here and elsewhere. Keep us informed on your purchase and adventures in the UK. Here’s to years of happy gliding.
Peace,
Josh
These segways might just change the world... for the better even!

Welcome Jen, I also seen my first Seg at Epcot, and I followed the glider for what seemed like a mile before he stopped and I caught up with him to ask a few hundred questions about the Segway.
Yep I was hooked...now I own one and always knew I would someday.
Again Welcome!!!!

Thanks for the welcomes guys.
Well, even though I'd started looking for a HT I must admit I thought that the going would be slow and getting one would be a search of months not weeks. But assuming no complications *crosses fingers* I'm going to be the proud owner of an i167 in about two weeks. :)
Of course now the other half will either be jealous or on it all the time. Maybe I should get another one... *grin*

Congrats.
It's funny how the greatest anti-Seggers turn folks on to the HT !

Are we talking about the mouse's rule of "No Segways in the Park"?
After seeing the saftey video that stated "This doen not replace the official orientation allowing you to ride in the parks" I asked my trainer, "Does this mean I could do the orientation and bring my own if I had one?" of course the answer was No, that's for Cast Members, guests can't bring Segways into the parks.
This cracked me up, EPCOT not allowing Segways given how many they have zipping around. Especially after being told by the instructor that Cast Members are never checked after passing the orientation. Once they've got it, they're left to their own devices.
silly thing is that they could make cash out of it too. Say they allowed Segways but that you had to take their own orientation course first ($99.00 + tax, conditions apply *grin* ) and if you pass you got a card that was valid for say a year to bring Segways in to any WDW area (except where prohibited, glider must have liability insurance *grin*). They'd rake it in!

Disney is also above the ADA, the prove it time and time again.
May the mouse and all who call his shots rot in hell. And there are many more.

Jen
Welcome. Many of us were "bitten" the same way. Took my first ride at EPCOT two years ago and got hooked. And yes, for the better half, I ended up with a second one shortly thereafter. We just got back from another trip to Disneyworld yesterday. Perhaps you were getting "hooked" while we were there last week. Hope you deal works out in a few weeks.

We probably just missed each other but you never know. I was there from the 25th to the 4th (to catch the EE previews) and did the segway tour on the 31st, 1st and 2nd of Feb I believe.
