With nothing to gain, not being Australian, never having visited Australia, not even being an HT owner, I emailed Melbourne's City Council after reading about their current study of a draft transport strategy.

I'm urging and encouraging them to look into Segways as additional reasonable alternatives. I gave them several links to look at, obviously Segway.com, this Forum, and also to the Colorado EPAMD law iniative, as a typical example of the sorts of laws the US is enacting in favor of the HT.
Perhaps some Aussies will see this and help encourage the City to add this to their upcoming agenda.
As I said, nothing personal to gain, but it couldn't hurt.
