WHAT?? Is everyone asleep at the wheel?? Here is some German engineering that has created the first "hands free" HT and NO ONE here at SC has noticed yet??? Thanks for finding this Skywalker! It looks like you hold the control shaft with your knees (the curved pads), steering must be accomplished by leaning the CS one way or another. I wonder where they put the mode button and keyport? Try playing polo on one of those mounts! Extremely high dollar machines if those prices are Euros. Somewhere along the line maybe they'll sell the control shafts to other HT owners.

There is a movie of the segway being used as such by a cameraman which was posted a while back:

The explanation on the steadycam model mentioned pedals for steering. I think the "knee" steering might be a good idea. Might be some side effects hitting unanticipated bumps though. Maybe better for completely flat, smooth surfaces only.

A couple of years ago, someone posted a video of a homebuilt hands-free steering setup based on pressure sensitive pads on the platform. Shifting one's weight from side to side activated the turning. Wasn't demoed at high speed though.

Bystander, I believe that was Ronny (Ronzul) from Austrailia on his P series.

Whatever happened to him, he's not on here anymore! Ronny, if you're out there, lurking please say hello.

Looking at the picture, you can see the pedals and the common linkage that seems like it would pivot at the center of the cs. If it just runs to a modified steering grip I'd wager it wouldn't be too difficult for someone really interested in doing it.

Welcome to SegwayChat funky-move. Thats quite some cargo carrier you have on your second page with the golf X2. Something you guys came up with yourselves no doubt. I guess if you don't have any doorways to go thru you'll be OK. :)

Love the name of your company, brings one back to the disco era and some 70's TV shows -- ie: "Huggy-bear", "Stacks", "Sheriff Roscoe P. Coletrain":D

Good Luck with the Segway business!

Thanks Zorba.. yes, the Cargo Seg you see is nor for doorways - but sometimes is bigger better ;-). We developed it for outdoor activities on a slick ground - but we have also a smaller version..
The first one is no X2 Golf - we developed it at a i2 base. Here in germany you can´t get a x2 golf - maybe in end of july.
At the european-segway-meeting in austria we will show some of our pimped segs and i have some pictures in my gallery..
