Loaded my two i167's in a PT cruiser (rental, mine's still in the shop) and hit I-10 south yesterday to Tucson and traded them in for a new midnight blue i180. With my current mobile lifestyle it just doesn't make sense to have more than one anymore. I had done that while being carless in beautiful downtown Chicago.
I am now the proud (?) owner (I really dislike these fenders) of a new machine with the L-Ions. Gave the machine a test run on the way back to Mesa at Biosphere2. It worked but only one redkey? That sucks.

Congrats on the LiIons, Bob. They're really something. I've enjoyed my three outings with Skip on his extra LiIon machine. Those fenders are "something" too ... maybe you could get some i170 fenders to go with the black machine? Good pictures. Tucson is my old "stomping grounds," as I went to school at the U. of A. (the first time around, when I didn't do so well and didn't graduate--the second time around I graduated summa cum laude at Northwestern).

So "Ol' Paint" (the name X-man gave to his first machine) is history, eh? A lot of good memories there ...

Yeah Broo, Ole Paint is now gone - glided off to the west. The new one is Seymour (see more) and, playing on the Little Shop theme, the coach is Audrey II. I seem to be continually feeding it. Just bought a Garmin 7200 to find my way around while wandering in the coach and the car (Audrey) and liking that a lot. Still us the 201 to leave a breadcrumb trail when wandering on a Segway in an unknown area.
On the way down to Tucson I saw a colorful hot air balloon up in the air. Got to try that sometime . Want to return to Tucson and spend some time down there. Oh, there are so many places to go and to see them all is going to be impossible but seeing what I can is a ball.
And now, off to Taliesin West and then the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive. This has to be Wright's greatest achievement. As long as there is little rain, the roof can't leak. :)

Way to go, trading in two segs and a cruiser. How much was that new Seg? ; } Hate to tell you that cruiser was a gashog, too bad it was not an electric or hybrid.

And your reading comprehension levels should also be updated.

Hey Bob,
Welcome to the long battery group!! I know you are really going to love the extra distance you can go now with the new batts. It really made a difference for me on how much more I enjoy the Seg with the longer battery life.

Glad to hear you made the plunge.

Mine are now ON my machine, and plugged in and waiting for me to get back from South Florida. TODAY I will finally get on my new Li-Ions, yea!

Broo,
I did the tour but the Seymour was used outside only. On the inside I just lagged behind everyone else but forced myself to do the tour. Wasn't easy but then my birth certificate came without warranty.
Quite a place but living there for 2 years - no way.

Skip,
Haven't really had the opportunity to do a long run yet but I have noticed the charge port cover hasn't been updated either. Still hard to keep closed. I've been on it for two days so far without recharging and still going strong with only one bar gone. Nice to have that extra juice in the bank though.

Steve,
Not all tht sudden but I did lower my gross hauling weight by 83 pounds. Maybe I can think about a co-pilot now but have to watch the weight. Sure you want to keep EC? ;)

Pam,
I had the chance to update the batteries but for me it was advisable to get rid of one so I took the economical approach that caused no more output of cash. The idea of having fewer concerns about getting back to point A sure enhances the enjoyment and anticipation of exploring new areas. Let the gliding begin!

Pam, you certainly waited long enough for the upgrade process. I really hope you enjoy the difference!

Fortunately the weather here was pretty yucky during all that time, so at least I wasn't languishing :). Thanks for all your help with it, Scott.

Pam, congrats ... you'll love those batteries. You can just Seg, Seg, Seg. I don't yet have v14 or the new batteries on my machine. It's still in its SegFest 2003 state, with v11 and its original batteries, but it still looks almost like new ... well, except for my beloved "open" wheels. I do "baby" my machine, and it's paid off. It's still like a piece of artwork that sits next to my desk (most of the time, unfortunately).

From having used Skip's extra LiIon i180 a few times, I know the difference these batteries will make for you. Enjoy!

Thanks, Broo. I'm so looking forward to going out and not having to choose between demos and getting home - and extending my range! All this time, the town has been building sidewalks to areas I haven't been able to glide - just because of the distance.

Too damp. Try Phoenix and Mesa.
