I did a search about inflating the tires and found several threads where bike hand pumps were mentioned, especially Topeak. What kind of plug do I need that fits on the valve?

I also saw that there are a lot of different recommendations about the pressure, there was everything between 15 and I think up to 22 psi. (I have an I180, by the way). So, what's the "right" pressure?

What's the correct amount of Slime that should be put into each tire?

Thanks for your help!

There was a formula on the bottle of "Slime For Tubeless Tires" that I used.

You will need to play around with the pressure. I treid between 20, to stiff for me, to 11, to soft.

I ended up at 15psi. Hmm....

People swear by Slime. I have not tried it yet but need to.

The user reference manual (pg.19) (http://www.segway.com/support/docs/Reference_Manual.pdf) indicates that the recommended pressure is printed on the wheel next to the valve stem. The I-167 I have says 15.5 there.

If I recall correctly, 15.5 is for I-167, I-170, & I-180. 22 is for P-133. I think the XT series is about 4. (The user manual has a chart on page 7).

As the others have mentioned you can run lower pressure for a softer suspension, however you may find that range is reduced.

Also, if you're pushing the max recommended weight limit of the HT, generally you should not let the tire pressure fall too much below recommended.

As for the type of the valve, I believe it is called "Schrader", (as opposed to "Presta (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/brandt/presta-schrader.html)"). There may be other names for it.

My local seg shop carries the smaller bottles can't remember which,.... either the 6 or the 8 oz bottles of slime for tubless tires.
I tried a half bottle in each tire and it worked for a while, then dried up. So then, I put in a full bottle in each tire and I'm very happy with the results.

If you have an XT you may want to put in a bit more. Kragen auto supply sells the larger bottles.

as for pressure, I like to rider around 16.5 psi.

I'm using a Slime based mixture and have been very happy with it so far. Before adding the Slime I had to add air to my tires at least once per week!

1 part Tubeless Slime (has bigger bits) - sporting goods/bike store
3 parts Liquid Latex (or Mold Builder) - craft store (Michael's)
4-8 parts water (mixture should be like heavy cream)

I used about 5-6 ounces in each tire.

Thanks! Next to the valve it says 15 psi but I will try to increase it a bit.

There is a calculator on the slime homepage to find how much to put in, but depending on which application is chosen (Scooter, SUV, Bike) the value varies. With scooter and the Segway tire dimensions it recommends 9oz. So I guess if I use 8oz on each side, that should work.

Just got my bottle of Slime.

Once I have put it in, is there a danger of leaking if I take pressure readings?

Anything else that I have to be aware of?
