I wasn't aware that there were differsnt connectors on the CS Cables..I have two 167s and one is RedFace with wrench .and I wanted to exchange CS to see if the fault was in the CS and I find that the connectors are differant ..Now which are the older type if theres been an upgrade and how would I get the newer ones(Dealer,INC,etc.)And what's this going to cost besides shipping.
Tried defferant batteries already so don't surgest that..the problem might be in the Base..And if it is the base(circuit boards) the price to change that

Unfortunately, that's what sometimes happens when a manufacturer makes a product improvement - old parts aren't compatible with new ones. That's also the case with the couplings between motor and gearbox - early ones were (noisier) metal; new ones are plastic, and to upgrade you need to change the motors.

Actually I have found out that the Older handlebar and the Newer handlebar IS compatable..

What you do is cut the shrinkwrap from the two small connectors right by were the strain relief is on the handlbar, underneath there are two clips, one male one female, swap cables (use old cable in newer handlebar) test, if all good, re-heatshrink

There is the older early version with exposed pins, and the newer version with plastic covered pins. I had the same issue, and both of my HT's are now with the same updated wiring harness.

The bad news is, that yes it is expensive...... And it is not something the home handyman can do (Jon is in no way a home handiman - he can do amazing things - but not with my daughter)

New Control Shaft wiring harness and an new Control Base is what you will need. - about 500 bucks is what I recall!

I concur with Jon's statement about replacing the wiring harness to use a newer handlebar with the older plugs, as we conspired to get that project done...

I do not know if they are otherwise compatible. (New handlebar on old unit = okay, old handlebar on newer unit = ?)

And the Monster and the Pimpster are ready, willing and able to kick whatever butt is presented, where ever the need arrises!
