I regularly cruise eBay for Segways for sale, and have had success purchasing one from a reputable eBay seller in Florida. I would say that 30% to 50% of the Segway auctions are frauds. You can tell the fraud auctions because somewhere in the description the seller asks you to contact him directly as he "doesn't check his eBay" email account often enough.

When you encounter these, please report the auction using this link and form:

Click the link that says "Contact eBay to report an outside of eBay email offer from a seller."

You'll report the User ID and the Auction Number. Just put a couple periods in the fields where it asks for the email headers and email body, then describe that the seller is soliciting the sale outside eBay right from inside the item description. I do this regularly, and most times, they report back that someone's account has been hijacked to run this scam.

Then "Fraud concerns for Buyers" > "Report a listing you think is fraudulent (you didn't bid)". Submit the item numbers to the auction and it will be down within 10 minutes.
