Well I got a set of brand new "old style" batteries this week, so tonight was the first time I used them. and when they wore down within a few blocks of my house, I said - Oh yeah, they need to be conditioned.
So tonight I started the old conditioning programing. Going down my street, up the next street and repeating....
How quickly we forget what it takes to glide!

But even better to have a "throne" to sit on. :)

Funny you said that, because of my position, I paid full dealer price.

Heck of a lot better than the LiOns from what I hear!
Also helps if you have air in your tires - I think I was running on 2lbs in one wheel and 10 in the other. No wonder it was acting strange....
Just have to take the time and break them in, not used to that routine anymore....
The first time, I was also breaking myself in, learning how to use the Segway, giving myself little trips, but nothing to far. Now I have had the taste of the world.... On the Red Key!

Depending on how you use your Seg the "oldies" may not be so bad.
Of course if you buy new the price of the upgrade to lions is a no brainer.

While talking to Denise at Segway of Tucson yesterday, she told me that she had recently received a notice from HQ that the new recommended time for leaving the batteries off a power source is now one week as opposed to the old stated standard of one month.
Any other verification on this and what is the reasoning behind this?

AmT - Hand delivered mind you - as a part of the exceptional service from a most wonderful dealer!
Bob, on the LiOn's, you better not let those babies sit without being charged for very long, or the will UP AND DIE. We have one of two LiOn batteries on a little used machine (being stored since fesT) here at DCSEG, that sat too long with out the power cord attached. Interestingly enough - when we went to use it, one battery was red lighted!
Again strike one up for the old style batts, they just keep on! Great shelf life....
