View Full Version : 1 suspicious and 1 REAL Segway on eBay

eBay item number 6596868549
Have notified eBay yesterday but so far they haven't done anything about it (although to give them their due they did pull two other Segway ads I brought to their attention).
I can't send my usual cautionary email to the bidders (suggesting they look at this website when considering buying Segways through eBay) as the seller has set it up so the bidders identities are being kept secret.

Has a bit of a feeling of a real owner about it although the description of a scooter/roller worries me a little; however that might be so that a wider search might notice it?
I have sent the seller my usual enquiry re serial number and cash on pick up so we will see I guess. I DO so want there to be some honest sellers out there!!

Hi Gaye,
sorry about this joke, I just answered. It's me selling my Segway. And yes, I want people to find my HT when searching for a scooter or (in german) a roller. I just don't want this thing any more, because it doesn't really work here in this hard alpine winter climate.

Proof the system works though as you DID answer with the serial number AND the acceptance of cash upon pick up!!
Can recommend this auction as totally honest to SegwayChat members (althought the price is quite high don't you think?)
In England I have recently been quoted these prices for NEW!
i180 with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries £3399
i180 with Lithium-ion batteries £3649
GT Golf Transporter with Lithium-ion £3995
XT Cross Terrain with Lithium-ion batteries £3799

Good Luck with your sale though!
Gaye

Hello,

I know that the price is high. The prices You mentioned above are without value added tax.
In Austria the i180 is € 5988,- and with Li-Ions € 6588,- (incl tax). Last week I was told by Segway Austria that by end of january or febraury the prices will increase 200,- to 300,- Euro.
So I believe, that 4000,- is a fair price here for my machine.

Hi again,
I guess something is worth what another person is prepared to pay for it and if that's the rate in Austria then go for it!!
I wish you lots of luck and it is very good to see at least one genuine Segway sale on eBay!

Ever notice that most of these are overseas sellers ? I see alot of bogus UK adds.

Sadly the recent culprits seem to be at least purporting to be within Europe but there are a fair few from the US and Canada too. Everywhere has it's share of bad apples I guess.
