For any of you who have seen Dean speak you know how passionate he is about FIRST Robotics. I received this information about the upcoming kickoff (this Saturday) and thought I would pass it along for anyone interested.

Greetings Teams:

Please let your friends, family, school mates, sponsors (anyone you know in fact!) that they can view the Kickoff live this Saturday, January 7th via NASA Broadcast TV or NASA Webcast. For full instructions on how to get connected, please click on http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/2006_kickoff.php

This is a great way to share the excitement of the season with those unable to attend the Manchester or a Local Kickoff. There will be remarks by Dean Kamen, John Abele, Woodie Flowers, and Dave Lavery, and of course the much anticipated unveiling of the 2006 FRC Game.

Additionally, if you missed the Game Clue in our recent email blast, please note it is posted on our website at http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/ under "Headlines."

We are as excited as you are for Kickoff to get underway - six (6) days and counting!

Go Teams!

“Who goes out and says, ‘You have a better probability of winning the state lottery than making a nickel in professional sports. And by the way, last year two million exciting technical jobs went unfilled in this country because you weren't there to take that job. And it pays you 10 times as much as flipping burgers, and it's fun and it's exciting and you get to create things and build things and help make the world a better place and help make yourself a better living.’ Who tells them this?”
