Here it is folks...still a little to be done, but you get the idea.
http://www.segwayofohio.net/

If you like it, I'd like to thank Austin at Segway of Hagerstown for all the help, time and advice.

If not...well, don't tell me, I'm very fragile!

Seriously though, feedback would be great!

Thanks.

Peace,

Jared... looks great! very easy on the eyes and placed well on the page.

I would suggest that you take your logo in the top and make it a link back to your home page. Most sites now have that usually in the top left corner or on the logo itself.

Later...

Ooo, very nice Jared. I like it!

Some of the segway images on the Models page are a bit blocky though.

Some of the segway images on the Models page are a bit blocky though. The site is nicely laid out. However, the models page not only has blocky images, it isn't friendly to the bandwidth challenged (i.e., modem users). This is because the pictures' natural size is larger than the displayed size, and the browser is "roughing it off" to fit the pictures into the dimensions the author of the webpage wanted.

The picture of the p-series is the worst offender. It's natural size is 2037 by 2747 pixels and it's filesize is 677 kbytes. It's displayed dimensions on the models page is set to 142 x 186 pixels.

I've scaled it smoothly as an example and compared it to the original jagged image. The new filesize is now 9 kbytes, so if you update your pictures, you will not only have a better looking picture, you'll also save bandwidth costs as more people view your site.

Jaggy:[img.nr]http://www.segwaychat.com/photos/bystander/p133201jaggy.jpg[/img.nr] Smoothed:[img.nr]http://www.segwaychat.com/photos/bystander/p133201smooth.jpg[/img.nr]

Your webmaster or website author should be able to use an image editing software program to smoothly rescale the images with jaggies.

If you're not concerned about bandwidth, there's also a technique to smooth out the jaggies via an image's style parameter using a matrix bilinear filter, but that's a little more complicated. I would only recommend this if you need various sizes of the same image in different places of your website.

Hey Jared,

One tip... I noticed you have several "external" links going to the official Segway website. It's best to always have all external links open into their own browser window. This way your visitor will still have your site open once they are done looking around the Segway site.

Some of your links did do this, but others didn't. You will want to make them all open into a new window. Also, check regularly for external links that have changed. I noticed at least one that is broken, the link to "congestion" on the Personal Use page...

Good luck with the biz!
