Hi everyone,

Everyone on this forum was great at helping me decide which version of the Seg to buy, so thank you.

Now I need the forums help again.

I bought a Segway Hauler to carry my Seg(I have 2 blown knees and a bad back so I can't lift the thing into the back of my truck, nor can I lift the ramps.) and it works great, however, on the way back from South Carolina I got pulled over. Yep, less then 8 miles from home, I got pulled over because the Hauler Blocks my license plate on my truck. So I have to relocate the License Plate and have no Idea where to put it.

I have a 2" class III receiver below the bumper and the license plate is mounted in the center of the bumper. (bumper is a standard truck bumper)

Any advice would be appreciated.

My first thought is to mount the plate where it is but with powerfull magnets, like they do at car dealerships. Then when you mount the hitch hauller, you can just move the plate over on the tailgate, temporarily.

Most states require you to have your plate lit. If you get an officer as picky as the one who just nailed you he would probably nail you for not having a light on your plate.

Might have to mount a relocated (lit) license plate bracket.

Looks like a trip to the JC Whitney Catalog or website.

No doubt you can get a lit license plate holder - like used on trailers, and bolt it on the back of the Segholder, and plug it in to a trailer hitch light. The only pain would be to remove the plate each and every time you take the hauler off and on. - but maybe you keep it on all the time, then it would be OK.

No doubt, when it comes to those hard to find items for your car that you never really knew you needed, that's the spot.

Actually had a local Police officer recommend I just put the plate in my rear window. But I don't know. I think it's gonna be a little more difficult.

And of course the custom car croud around here are saying, "get a recess kit for your trucks tailgate and run the wiring for the lights into the tailgate."
I just had my truck repainted and I'm not cutting a hole in my license plate for a tag kit.

I'll try the window for now and see if I can find something at an RV Dealer.
