Did anyone see the HT spot on the show this past Sunday? The HT was featured for a good minute running around the back yard. I did not see Segway LLC show up in the credits. I wonder who donated the HT?

They didn't even call it a "Segway"... it was a "gyro scooter".

Called it Segway. That show is very careful about correct product placement. It was cool having the HT run the bases.

My whole family laughed out loud when Ty (the host) called it a "gyro scooter". I realized right away that Segway, Inc. would have had to pay for them to mention the name on the show. Most of the suppliers that have materials or products used on that show get a few seconds of close-up camera time on their company name or logo (probably in exchange for donating the materials). It is almost funny when you pay close attention to the product placements. It is even funnier when they 'blur out' any other specific logos and names. The funniest, was when they did a whole 'crayon' theme for a bedroom, but blurred out the word 'Crayola' every time it was on camera - which was a lot!
But Segway got some really good advertizing out of it anyway. That may have been the type of exposure that will make a lot of people realize it is totally practical to get around in the real world on a segway. It whipped through the house without any appearance of danger of running into things. It rolled over threshholds and bumps as if they weren't even there. And it transitioned smoothly from sidewalk to grass with no worries. Even though Ty is a very 'out of control' kind of a guy, he appeared to have the segway totally under control.
Since that show often hooks people up with devices that can help them with a disability, I have been wondering how long it will take before they do a show where they actually give a segway to someone.
Our friends at DRAFT may want to drop the show a line saying that if there is ever a family on the show that could use a segway for help with a disability, they could donate one. I don't know what the chance would be of Segway Inc helping with the cost of that, since they are very careful not to promote segways as an assitive device for disabilities.
