In September Disability Rights Advocates For Technology launched our Segs4Vets program with the goal of providing Segways to every United States Soldier whose service to our country resulted in disability and difficulty walking.

Of course you can help by making a tax-deductible financial contribution to DRAFT. Please visit the Donations page on our web site www.draft.cc where we accept all major credit cards. The generous contributions of our donors are essential in continuing our mission. But you can also help by donating your old Segway to DRAFT to be used in our Segs4Vets Program. We need both new and refurbished Segways to meet our goals.

Great Program - I hope some of the Segway Dealers get on board with the DRAFT folks. This is a win-win for everyone involved...

I'm continually impressed and amazed at the things Jerry, Leonard, Fred and others have achieved with DRAFT. I hope this thread gets bumped, bumped and bumped again! Top job, guys.

Most of the time when people get invoved with a charity they never really see where their gift goes. Many of the people at the DC Fest were able to meet two of our recipients. Kevin joined us for dinner Saturday night and Hilbert joined several of us for the after dinner gliding. For both of these men walking is a miracle. The limps and pressures put on their hips with each step is something they must deal with. When they go to a mall with their family and friends they are exhausted from the walking. Their Segways allow them to join their loved ones in activities which they otherwise would pass on.

It will take about a million dollars worth of Segs to reach our first goal. These men (and women) will be the absolute best Segway ambassadors. Please help in whatever fashion you can. If you give a new or used Seg, we will let you know who becomes the recipient. One look at the Segway smile on these men is absolutely priceless.

And for those of you getting new LiOn Batteries, and wanting to not store, and keep charged the old ones, DRAFT is also accepting donations of usable batteries as well!

I have heard of no plans for them to be able to make use of the dead batteries, that some of us have....
