I have exhausted the highways and byways of our little village and want to venture further afield. However my boot (trunk) is full of dog cages. So yesterday I drove to a smallish manufacturing company about 1.5 hours away and bought a thing called a Bak-Rak. It goes on the tow bar and the Segway fits right on it! Amazing coincidence as the designer (a nice guy called Pete Yates) had never seen a Segway before!!! I will try and attach a photo for you to see. If I can't incude in this message will try and set up a photo Album. If THAT fails email me (gayehood@yahoo.com) and I can email back the photos!
It was very reasonably priced (considering the added freedom it will give me) at £80
So I am now totally mobile with Harriet the Chariot and am anticipating going [u]everywhere</u> with her!

The basic Bak-Rak although I have decided I also need the gadget that allows it to fold it up when not in use.
The Segway i series fits on to it as if it were purpose made so I cannot recommend it highly enough - [u]very</u> good!
Send me your email address and I will send you a couple of photos.
Regards

Gaye. I sure wish you would send me a couple pix of your Bak-Rak too. I have the 180 and will have the Lithium batteries within a couple weeks. I am not clear at all just how it attached to my 2" hitch and how it is raised to traveling height. Thanks.

Incidentally those of us without bulging muscles (and sadly a bit of fat does not equate to muscle!!)or that have bad backs will need a ramp to get Segway up on to Bak Rak and there are roll up into a bag aluminium ones (Wheeltech) or multi fold ramps around.
Then you just self power the Segway up to it's snug!!

Gaye.....I have checked into the Bak-Rak and the roll up ramps and although they seem great, the problem is that Pete does not ship them to the USA. They are only available in the UK.....so sad to say, unless someone gets a franchise or something they are not anything we can use!

Apparently he will supply to Europe so anyone with a friend in Europe can get them to take delivery and then the friend can forward to the US. WheelTech ramps can be searched through Google and a local supplier found.
Good hunting
