NYC Training Dates

I spoke to Segway today.

New York City training dates will be the weekend of March 15th and March 29th. There will be three others in NYC,(for a total of 5) with at least one in April."

"No training will occur anywhere before March first; either in the various cities or at the factory."

"After March 1st, Segway will resume weekly training sessions in Bedford, NH. besides the various scheduled city sessions."

"Amazon.com buyers can either elect to take training in one of the cities close to where they live or come to the Bedford NH facility for training. If you go to Bedford for the training, there is unfortunately, no tour of the facility."

As far as the e-mails we've been so eagerly awaiting, "You'll be getting them before March first" which really doesn't go along with all we heard last week about "very, very soon", but I don't make this stuff up, I just report it.

I must have called Segway about the same time you did. I live in San Diego and asked about training in Los Angeles. I seem to have gotten slightly different information. See Any Training E-Mails Yet. DK sure knows how to keep us crazy about wanting his Segway invention. I am hoping for an early March delivery date. I haven't been on Long Island in over 30 years. Hmm, this does not correspond with what the LA caller heard from Segway.

If training in NYC will not happen until March 15th at the earliest, then they won't be shipping any units to NYC area until after that. And if they are having training in LA on Feb 22 and shipping a few days later, then someone in LA who ordered after someone in NYC will get the machine a couple of weeks earlier.

I hope that is not the case because they said they would be shipping on a first come-first served basis in order of the orders placed with Amazon.com.

This is what I can tell you at this time. I know for sure that Segway, at the Bedford NH training facility is having training classes on Feb 5 and will have training at least once per week. I know this because I am taking 3T “Instructor Training” on the 5th and 6th and part of the class requires me to sit in on and observe Basic Rider Optimization Training being taught to by Segway Instructors to its customers.
