Does it hurt the Segway at all if I go down fair sized curbs?

Thanks,
Kasey

Kasey,

Well, how about a two part answer? Yes, I've taken the Segway off of fair sized curbs, but the more appropriate question would be 'Will it hurt the rider' not 'Will it hurt the Segway'.

If you do so, do it at your own risk. As per page 7 of the Segway HT Riders Guide:

"If the Segway HT Wheel runs into an obstacle, wall, hole, or off a curb or step, the Segway HT might not be able to move as necessary to stay upright, and the Segway HT and rider could fall."

Either way, good luck, have fun...and GLIDE SAFELY!!!!

Peace,

I take my Seg down curbs all the time. As long as you are comfortable with riding and careful, then you should be fine.

Kasey,

It all depends what you call a "fair sized" curb. I regularly go off curbs and the like yet the only time I fell was going off what I call a "fair sized" curb (about 15 inches high). Point I'm trying to make is what Austin and Jared made....as long as you feel comfortable and safe doing it then by all means, try....but don't blame me if you fall :-)
