Hi folks,

Considering buying an i-67 to use at our school. The students will go nuts and hopefully get interested in physics!

Are there any significant differences in the specs between the i67, i70 and i80?
If "it" has an older version of the software, I can get "it" upgraded at my local Segway dealership, right?

Also, what about the tires, batteries, part replacement availability, etc.?
The cosmetic differences don't mean much to me unless there have been improvements that fixed reoccurring problems of some sort.

Thanks in advance.
Happy gliding.

Josh, the i180 does have upgraded software (version 14.0) that allows it to accommodate either the new Lithium Phosphate batteries or the NiMH batteries. Aside from that, there are no appreciable differences in the basic "guts" of the machines themselves.

Dealers will--at some point, presumably-- be able to upgrade i167s to v14 software when the new batteries are released for sale to owners of the older models.

You should be fine with an i167 as is. It's a great machine.

Will you consider also the "P"? It takes less storage space and accommodates smaller riders. The physics, of course, are the same.
