For those folks that are coming to SegwayFest DC, and all quite a few of you are, we have some gliding time planned for you....

Registration opens at the Hotel Washington at Noon on Friday September 23rd. That should give those of you who are here on Wed and Thursday time to get ready, and for those of you driving in on Friday the glides are spaced out so you will not miss one.

We have three glides, and each of these glides will go on for a while. So that you do not miss them, they will be repeated on Sunday. They will be divided up during the afternoon, so do not feel rushed to get on one or the other, but you will only really be able to do one of them.

We will NOT be gliding on the National Mall or to the Memorials as a part of SegwayFest, Segway HT gliding there has been restricted due to a National Park Service Transportation Study underway. You will hear more about that while at SegwayFest. All glides will be in and around "our" Washington DC, the city that those of us who live here glide about every day.

1:00 pm - Capital Hill Glide, You will glide in and around the historic Capital Hill neighborhoods, showing you the sights, and giveing you some historical tidbits and local gossip about that part of DC!

2:00 pm Downtown Glide, Past some of America's historic spots, and by, through some of DC's interesting downtown areas such as China Town, by Ford's Theater and to the Penison Building, home to the National Building Museum.

2:00 pm Logan Circle, DuPonT Circle Glide. Here you will see some of the of the elegant 19th century architecture and see some of the history that no one really thinks of when you think of DC.

Each glide will consist of about 25 people, sign ups will be at the registration desk.

Get those Batteries Charged and conditioned, you will be using all the juice you got!

And once that is through, then we will glide (or if you have no juice left) walk over to the new location of Capital Segway on Washington's historic Franklin Square Park for the SegwayFest and Capital Segway Welcome Reception.

Checked out some of the glides on Sunday and today, boy what fun, what interesting little pockets, even some of us did not know some of the tidbits of history that we found out.

And STARS, we even have our own walk of fame, with handprints and all.

Tonight we did the dry run of the "Lion" Tour - not batteries - beasts! Into the historic neighborhood of DuPonT Circle, up to Adams Morgan (we did not see ms dolly cup) then across a couple of wonderful bridges, and into the exclusive neighborhood of Kalorama, and back to the hotel. This tour will show of some of the wonderful residental architecture as well as some of the more interesting views of Rock Creek Park. If you don't like heights, this might not be the tour for you. The first tour on the trip that you gain as much power from the last half, going down hill as you used in the first half of the tour!

Lots of history to see and experience!

All of our guides are touring on older batteries, so don't worry, as long as you have conditioned yours, you should be fine.
