DC Segway Fest 2005

New to the forum, new to Segways, have fallen in love...

So, I rode my first Segway last Saturday in Annapolis (http://www.segsinthecity.net/segsafaris.htm)(great tour and very nice folks... highly recommend these people) and will do so again, next month in Gettsyburg. I just can't seem to get these things out of my mind.

Not owning one of these marvels, how well might I fit in to the upcoming DC Segway Fest, now barely a week plus away? Since I live close by (Baltimore) I figure it might well be worth going, just not sure what I might experience (other than severe Segway Envy) or might have to gain.

I will own one of these SOMEDAY, but can't swing it just yet.

Any suggestions from folks who have been to any of these past events? Thanks much.

Rentals and Training is availalbe.

Gliding on the guided glides will be most fun. Plus - do YOU want to be the one who pulls up to an event in a Taxi?

Come on down to DC for SegwayFest - and rent a Seg from any number of rental agencies...

You will not regret it...

You will no doubt buy a Segway before you leave Fest - or at least have your savings plan in place for one!

OK, I appreciate everyone's responses, and I've signed up for the Fest. Looking forward to it.

Will, do you know if Segways will be available to rent there at the hotel, or should I try to make some arrangements before I go? I've got one email out to a local vender, still waiting for an answer from him though.

Glides, have we told you that we will be showing you the back streets of DC, the haunts of locals and the sights that you will not get from the normal tour buses.

Oh yeah you aren't going on a tour bus, you are seeing DC from a Segway HT!

Are we going inside any buildings? Asks an attendee.

I was able to make prior rental arrangements with our Segway of Annapolis dealer, and so I now have a reserved i170 for all 3 days. I'm planning on gliding at every opportunity, and I'm like a kid at Christmas... I can't wait.

Before riding one of these things for the first time just 9 days ago, I wish someone would've warned me about the effect this would all have on me... Just kidding, but I do seem to have a new, unexpected lease on life, oddly enough.

YES on the website we have 3 Count them THREE rental providers, Segway of Annapolis, Capital Segway and Segs In The City!!!

We want everyone gliding, as much of the event will be in DC, as it will be in the hotel!

When will a Fest be held on the west coast again? I didn't have a Seg for the Sacramento Fest and I can't go to DC.

That will be discussed either at DC or after. Rainy season and tax season both end by April 15th. The middle or end of July is ideal but we have to determine how many fests and exactly where.
