1. BECOME A MEMBER. They need people to help with pedestrian issues. Their issues are our issues.
2. Speak with people in the group. Make friends in the group. Support them in their issues. Explain to your friends why good sidewalks, open access to all destinations upon all roadways, with equatable signals is important to standard pedestrians and empowered ones alike.
3. Speak with the leadership of the group. Explain how the goals are common goals.
Safety, access and equality are the watchwords.
The common enemy? A city designed solely for the Automobile.
Our needs and their needs are exactly the same, except if they seek to ban the Segway. We will need organizations like theirs, and we should support them EVEN if they support a sidewalk ban. Because we have so much more in common than we have issues that divide us.
