Downtown Tampa, Fla., Poe Plaza, September 23, 2005, 11:30-1:30. Segway of Tampa Bay-Clearwater will be giving live demonstrations of the Segway HT i180.
Think about it. What would an event like this be WITHOUT the Segway?!!
Come and see us and get acquainted!

Think about it. What was the event like for the eight years that the Segway wasn't involved?
There have always been viable alternative transportation choices. The Segway is just one more possibility.

Anything worth doing for 2 hours is 10 times more worthwhile if done for 20 hours.

No, it's NOT just one more possibility. It's a fundamentally different device with nothing else comparable. THAT was my point. But you can shoot it full of holes all you want--or TRY, that is, because it truly WILL change people's lives in ways no other device can--with or without your skepticism.

I agree with Dan.
Many people were alive before segway. But it is still reasonable to say that they do not have a life until I give them a demo on my segway. (Or they buy one of their own!)

Pretty sad commentary on the shallowness of some peoples existance when their road to enlightenment can only be traveled on a self-balancing scooter with a short range.

Look. Knock of the flame-baiting. Karl and I simply happen to disagree with you, and Karl is being a little facetious in his own whimsical way. Quit trying to twist his words into a negative.

There are a lot of great alternatives to driving around multi-ton vehicles to get a mile or three. It's beautiful to have options.
And yes, I do agree that the Segway HT, with its extensive 16-24 mile range, is an environmentally-responsible, fun, and very safe alternative to driving a bunch of short trips during the day.
