This week I started demonstrating Microsoft's new XP Pro Tablet PC at O’Hare Airport and a few minutes ago FINALLY saw my first Segway in person. One guy was riding one next to another guy pushing one. It was pretty much the size I expected.
What was most interesting was eavesdropping on people's comments as some had no idea what it was while others offered some inaccurate information: "20 mph", "can't get up stairs"(at all).
No, I didn't go chasing after them to talk to the guys, but after two full years of chasing "IT", it was great to finally see one!

OFF TOPIC: I'm a Mac user, but the Taps look nice. *waits for Apple's iTablet*
ON TOPIC: That's cool! I saw my first Segway at the VCU Regional for FIRST. It was the pSeries and Deano was riding it.

O'Hare is the perfect place for a Segway. Workers who have to cover a lot of ground can make great use of it. I should drive over there with my HT. During these cold Chicago winter days it would be the perfect place for me to ride around. GyroGo, contact me if you want a demo ride. I'll give you a Segway demo and you can give me a tablet PC demo.

Broo, it did get my attention!
I'd be glad if any of you stop by for to see me at O'Hare, TabletPC demo kiosk middle of Terminal 2 next to Cinnabon (I'm Gary). It's behind security checkpoint, so you do need a boarding pass or security badge to get in.
pt, I haven't seen the Acer in person, we're showing the Toshiba 3500 in O'Hare, but we're in over half dozen airports and we're showing the Acer in some. Toshiba 3500 is pretty sweet, best reviews so far.
Mr Techno, thanks for the offer. I've thought of begging Broo for a demo, but figure that eventually I'll have an opportunity and it's hard to find time now (2 little kids at home). Stop by anyway for a demo if you're coming through.

Hey there Gary,
I wouldn't be the person to beg for a demo from ... I'm waiting until March like everyone else. But Mr. Techno sounds like he's willing to get some wheels under you! I'd take him up on that offer!

I'm still waiting for my first parachute jump and bungee jump, I'm still waiting for my first affair with a Playboy bunny, I'm still waiting to win the Lotto. I'm a patient man.

It never takes much arm-twisting to get me on a Segway, Mr.T! I'm just a few miles away from downtown. :)

this seems to be a love connection then [:X]
we'll be back in two-and-two :D
sorry i stole this from Darci Woods web site (Chuck Woolery's own comment) - Darci Woods of TechTV was also gushing about Segway the other day in her Las Vegas/CES/Steve Wozniak related post (I invited her here, but did not really follow up all the details afterwards).

MrTechno:
Speaking of two and two (np was), I had previously been to your site Technogadgets.com and read many of your posts, but my brain just put 2 and 2 together and I suddenly realized who you are!
I'd be happy to work out some sort of tablet demo with you, I'll try to work something out and get you out an e-mail tonight or tomorrow (Wed or Thurs).

This morning I spotted a police officer flying through at probably 10mph + in moderate pedestrian traffic. There's an Orange alert today at the airport, pretty high. I'm guessing because of the UN presentation.
The Seg really is great for getting from one end of the airport to the other.
