I have noticed a lot more scams lately, but the again there have been some good deals too. You just really have to watch and make sure that you do your research on the specific machine before you tie up your money.

I shoulda known, it was a scam, the person wanted a western union money transfer through dhl, but I called dhl and they don't do anything with western union. First thing that was suspicious besides the price and item location was that it said to transfer the money to the person then I would get a tracing number. I will show the email later. Just beware seg scams. I have to decide on how to report this person now.

Hi All,

I recently had two good experiences buying Segways used.

I located a 2.5 year old i67 with few hours use for a good price on Craigslist in Chicago. It even came with the Segway cargo bags built on. I liked using Craigslist because I could examine the Segway in question and ride it before making a purchase, and then when I decided to purchase could exchange cash for physical possession of the Segway.

I also bought a newer i80 with the new lithium batteries on eBay for a good price. The seller was one of those drop-off places that take in items and auction them on consignment. The shop had a strong seller rating.

Careful with eBay, however. I bid on several other Segways and didn't win them. I received a flurry of scam-type emails from people pretending to be the sellers of those items offering me "second chance" opportunities because the buyer who won the auction was unable to complete the transaction.

Be suspicious of ALL emails offering to sell you something. When buying on eBay, you should ALWAYS initiate the transaction by locating the item for sale on ebay and bidding on it through their system.
