I've been trying to get permission from LLC to use their logo to make some caps and shirts but no luck. You would think by now that LLC would have some on the market or not mind somesone else making some until they get rolling.

Anyway, I just wanted to show some of you race fans my racing Seg.
You can tell whats on my mind.

Where is that e-mail telling me my Segway is ready?

wayne, you've mentioned before how easy it was to grab the Segway photo and file it for embroidering. Could you list out detailed steps for us ignorant folk to fetch the file onto a diskette and bring to the shopping mall and explain to the machine operator there what to do? Or are there too many different machines and file formats? (assume we know how to copy a file from the 'net, but know nothing of special file formats or embroidery)

Thanks for thinking about it!

Go to the press section of Segway.com (don't worry, you don't need to be part of the press) and download the press package. It has the logos in PNG form.

Joseph, thanks.

OK, I see that PNG means "Portable Network Graphics" format. Is that file directly useable by the average embroidery machine? Is there any work required for cropping or sizing?

Deviant,

You could take a copy of the Segway logo to an embroidery shop and tell them to embroidery it for you.
Fist, they would have to digitize the logo and there would be a setup charge to do this. If I was charging to set this up I would probably charge $25 to $45.
This would be a one time charge to the customer. The only problem would be that they (the embroider) are not suppose to sell anything that is a trade mark or copyright. They may do a couple of items for you but if Segway LLC finds out they can put a stop to it. That is why I have been trying to get permission to use their logo so I could make some caps & etc. to sell to the ones who want them untill Segway LLC gets kicked off on their items.

wayne,

You're absolutely right - my mistake. I had somehow overlooked that they would be charging to copy it. I would not ask anyone to do that. I've always wanted my own embroidery machine, automated weaver, copying lathe, 3d printer, etc., etc., (of course, a Star Trek replicator with database and power supply would suffice) but just can't seem to justify them.
