Speaking of Segway-friendly routes, DC is about to go from the most Segway friendly city in the world to the least Segway-friendly city in the world almost overnight.
DC METRO is voting on their proposed ban of Segways in the Metro during rush hour at this Thursday's (july 21) Board Meeting. They pushed this off the agenda once thanks to the efforts of DC SEG members, but I can almost guarantee we won't see the same sort of action twice.
Pity that to date there's been little if any involvement from anyone with the actual power to maybe affect this kind of decision.
Welcome to DC, please leave your Segways at the door, ... they'll be banned on the National Mall AND Metro just in time for Fest.
real pity.
