What's the difference between the 17$ and 80$ kryptonite lock? I know one is a wheel lock, but what I need is quick use. Any suggestions?

The cheaper lock is a bit frustrating to use because it keeps trying to coil up while you're trying to thread it through the wheel. The hub lock was beautifully made and quick and easy to use, but was discontinued when it was discovered that it could be opened with a Bic pen.

Personally, I carry the hub lock in my bag, but have never felt the need to use it. Whenever I glide to a store, restaurant, or whatever, I park inside where either I can keep an eye on it, or know that a cashier saw me come in, and would, hopefully, stop someone else from pushing it out.

Segway - What's holding you up?

The hub lock has no equal. Everything else is monstrously clunky one way or another.

Bicycle shops sell U-locks just about the right size to poke one prong through the wheel while the other prong goes over the fendertop. Non-coiled cables with loop-ends complement a U-lock nicely in case you want to fasten to an immovable object.

Give me the Kryptonite axel lock - they are still available if you check around!

Has anyone tried to open the kryptonite lock with a bic pen? I have tried and can't do it. I also called the manufacture and talked to Segway LLC and the kryptonite lock is NOT on the recall list. I really don't believe that the kryptonite lock can be opened with the bic pen.

THEY ARE GREAT LOCKS!!!

Personally, I think the less people hear about the Bic problem the safer our Segs will be!

To segue, or not to segue, that is the question.
