Well, I never thought I would do it again. The last raffle was difficult & painful to say the least, not to mention expensive, but I let a Non-Profit organization called SPARX talk me into another Cleveland Raffle. The rewards from this raffle isn't a charity, but I couldnt pass up the advertising opportunity here in Cleveland.
This one is a little different. There are very limited tickets and the price is steep at 5.00 per ticket. SPARX is an organization that is bringing awareness to Cleveland by bringing artists in from all around for the entire summer, with many Friday events around the city..
The raffle is on September 18th, at 7:00 PM. The winner is responsible for any tax and all Shipping. (shipping about 150.00)). Tickets are available thru my web site or with PayPal. http://www.GoSegway.net, and click on the SPARX button. This will be the only prize this time. Keep in mind that the last winner was a friend of Tim Kanaley, and avid Seg-chatter! I was torn that it wasnt a Clevelander that won, but happy it was someone from SegChat!
Thanks for your support!

MORE INFO ABOUT SPARX
What does the money support?
Sparx in the City is a civic marketing initiative featuring regional artists as catalysts for stimulating vibrant street life and economic activity in downtown Cleveland. Money raised by the raffle helps ensure:
- More street life and professional performers entertain the public on the sidewalks of downtown
- More local arts entrepreneurs can be showcased as a “selling point” of our city
- More marketing efforts can take place to support downtown and its merchants
Who runs it?
Now in its third year, Sparx in the City is managed by arts entrepreneurs and event planners who have partnered with 48 cultural organizations, media outlets, development corporations, marketing agencies, and government entities. Fiscal agency is provided through the Downtown Cleveland Partnership, who serves as the organization’s 501c3 non-profit entity.
What exactly does Sparx in the City do?
1. It presents an ongoing program: 16 weeks of professional performance ensembles entertaining the public on various sidewalks of downtown every Friday at lunch, Friday at dinner, and Saturday at dinner from June – September. Acts can be found in the Warehouse, Gateway, and Theater Districts.
2. It presents an annual event: is the Sparx Gallery Hop on Sept. 16-18, 2005, which is Ohio’s largest showcase of galleries, studios, institutions and major arts festivals over one weekend. Over 100 locations are featured in Ohio City, Tremont, Gateway, Warehouse District, Theater District, Quadrangle area, University Circle and Little Italy, with trolleys mobilizing the public through the main areas.
3. It provides custom marketing vehicles for small businesses in the arts: The Sparx in the City Visitor Guide is an 8-page free calendar listing of art walks, art festivals, and outdoor entertainment found in the core city during the summer months. This can be found in the May issue of Cleveland Magazine or in visitor centers around the downtown area. The Cleveland Gallery Guide features gallery/studio listings, maps, and advertisements for 8 Cleveland arts districts. While this is designed to have a year-round shelf-life, 10,000 of them are presented through the Gallery Hop to patrons as the official event program.
Why is it important?
1. Sparx in the City creates a better quality of life for all Clevelanders. Anyone who is a suburban or downtown resident, merchant or out of town visitor benefits because they become better informed about all the cool arts districts in key downtown areas.
2. Sparx in the City’s efforts are proven to help the local economy. It’s 2004 programs boosted visitor spending and provided a $1.1 million impact on the Cleveland area, and they created real revenue opportunities for arts entrepreneurs and downtown merchants.
3. Sparx in the City is a source of civic pride. Clevelanders need something to be proud of, and this program just earned the U.S. Conference of Mayors City Livability Award for 2005 – competed against 150 other entries from major cities across the country.
